Parking Fee and Directional Systems.

Parking Fee and Direction Systems with Parking Automation.

Parking lots have become vital, especially in big cities, due to the increase in vehicle density. This need for parking has led to the development of parking systems. Previously, systems that required payment based on paper tickets have been replaced by automatic payment systems. Due to the problem of finding empty spaces in large parking lots, parking guidance systems, also known as parking full-empty systems, have been developed. It is very clear that managing vehicle entries and exits in busy parking lots without a parking automation system will be impossible.

We will examine parking automation systems under two different headings. The first is parking payment systems, and the second is parking vehicle guidance systems. In this article, we will provide information on Parking Pricing and Guidance Systems.

Otopark Payment Systems:

In the past, payment processes in parking lots used to start with issuing a ticket at the entrance, but nowadays they have evolved into modern payment systems. In modern parking lots, vehicle information is recorded at the entrance using license plate recognition systems. Automatic ticket delivery is made using barcode readers against dirty, faded, etc. license plates. When the vehicles leave the parking lot, payments are made at automatic payment stations where the barcode system or license plate used at the entrance is used for automatic payment. After the payment is made, the barriers open for the relevant vehicle with the approved payment confirmation through the license plate recognition system at the exit, allowing the vehicle to pass through.

In recent years, automatic payment systems used in parking lots have become very advanced. Especially payment systems integrated with license plate recognition systems provide great convenience and speed for both parking lot operators and customers. Once again, manual payments made at the exit have been replaced by automatic payment systems. Drivers can make their payments with cash or credit card at the automatic payment stations before they reach the exit, allowing them to move quickly without waiting in line to pay.

Parking payment systems have become an essential element for parking lots of a certain size. We can say that these systems are vital for parking lots operated by salaried personnel to track income and prevent any illicit activities.

Otopark Directional Systems:

Finding a parking spot is a serious problem in parking lots with multiple floors or high vehicle numbers, even in single-level parking lots. Vehicles drive around inside the parking lot to find a spot, which creates unnecessary traffic and incurs fuel costs. Additionally, excessive circulation of vehicles inside closed parking lots leads to the accumulation of carbon monoxide (CO). To mitigate this, jet fans or different ventilation systems continuously operate, which results in significant energy consumption. To prevent all of these issues, parking guidance systems are used.

The parking guidance system displays vacant or occupied spaces with red and green lights. Additionally, electronic signs automatically guide drivers to available spaces, making parking easier. The software of these systems also allows parking occupancy to be monitored on graphical displays. Parking guidance systems are essential for reducing carbon emissions, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring safe and efficient parking.

Parking fee and payment systems are designed to determine and collect fees based on the duration of parked vehicles. These systems can be implemented using various technological solutions.

In some parking lots, a simple system is used where a predetermined tariff is applied based on the entry time of the vehicle. When leaving the parking lot, the vehicle owner must pay the fee within the specified time.

Another method involves using license plate recognition systems to record the entry and exit times of vehicles, allowing different fees to be applied based on the parking duration.

In recent years, mobile applications for parking fee payment systems have become more widespread. With these applications, vehicle owners can pay their fees and even reserve parking spaces before entering the parking lot.

Parking fee and payment systems ensure the orderly use of parking facilities, making it easier for parking lot operators to manage their business.

Currently, vehicle detection sensors in parking systems are being replaced by video analysis-enabled camera parking guidance systems. We will provide more detailed information on this topic in future articles.
